Toni Dirlic (born December 11, 1979 ) is a German basketball coach and former player of Croatian descent.

Life

Dirlic, a 1.92 meter winger, played in the 1998/99 season in the basketball league for SG Braunschweig . He then played for the second division BG 73 Wolfenbüttel and the regional division VfB Gießen.

As a coach, he looked after the U18 team of the Gießen 46ers and, from 2008, the U19 team of the Mittelhessen in the youth basketball league . There players like Dominik Turudic , Dominic Lockhart , Robin Amaize and Robin Christen were among his protégés. Because of his teaching traineeship he left Giessen in November 2011 and went to Chemnitz . In the Saxon city, he became the coach of the WNBL girls in the youth division of ChemCats Chemnitz , with whom he finished fourth in the final round of the German championship in May 2011. In the summer of 2011 Dirlic was the assistant coach of Germany's female U15 national team. At the beginning of November 2011, Dirlic became the transition coach of the Chemnitz Bundesliga women for almost two weeks after the club split from Raoul Scheidhauer . Dirlic, who also works as a trainer at the local sports school in Chemnitz and took over the position of sporting director at the ChemCats, became again the Chemnitz Bundesliga trainer in mid-February 2014 following Roland Senger's dismissal . Dirlic led the Chemnitz women to fourth place in the German championship at the beginning of May and then handed over the office to the Croatian Vladimir Ivankovic. When he was dismissed by the Bundesliga club at the end of February 2015, Dirlic took over the coaching post again and led the Saxons, who were threatened with relegation, to remain in the top German division.
