Toni Koy (* 28. March 1896 in Wormditt , Warmia ; † 14. June 1990 in Annaberg-Buchholz , Kreis Annaberg , district of Chemnitz ) was a German goldsmith.

Life

Toni Koy attended the Königsberg Art Academy and the Hanau State Drawing Academy . In 1936 she passed the goldsmith master’s examination at the German Werkbund . She stayed in Königsberg and specialized early on in the artistic processing of amber in her workshop in Königsberg, which she opened in 1921. She was particularly fond of processing inclusions . For them, the uniqueness of each piece of amber required an individual processing. This also explains the sometimes barren silver settings of the amber. In collaboration with Hermann Brachert and Jan Holschuh , she increased the fame of the Königsberg amber manufactory . Many of their sports prizes were under the sign of National Socialism . After fleeing East Prussia, she ran her own workshop in Annaberg-Buchholz for over 30 years, from 1945 to 1975.
