Toni Profanter

Toni Profanter (born July 24, 1954 in Villnöß , actually Anton Profanter ) is the former regional staff leader of the Association of South Tyrolean Music Bands and was conductor of the Villnöß band from 1980 to 2001 and 2005 to 2013 .

Life

Profanter comes from a musical family (his brother Hansjörg Profanter is solo trombonist with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks), grew up in Villnöß, is a mechanical engineer by profession and made music in the family at an early age. At the age of 13 he joined the Villnöß music band as a clarinetist. After training as a conductor in 1976, he led various music bands in the Eisack Valley area . In 1977 he won the gold award for young musicians . Between 1989 and 2000 he was the district conductor of Brixen . He has been working for the Association of South Tyrolean Music Bands since 1983 and has been responsible for "Music in Motion" since 1996. Toni Profanter has been Kapellmeister of the Vahrn music band since 2013 .

Honors

Toni Profanter is the carrier of the State of Tyrol Medal of Merit for his services to the Tyrolean music and an honorary member of the Association of South Tyrolean music bands.
