Toni Scholl

Toni Scholl (born October 30, 1963 in Saarlouis ) is a German musician , conductor and lecturer.

Life

Toni Scholl began his musical career when he was 10 years old on the trombone . Since the age of 13 he received professional lessons there. In addition to numerous other musical activities, he was first trombonist with the Saarland Youth Symphony Orchestra and with the staff music corps of the German Armed Forces in Siegburg.

From 1984 to 1989 Scholl studied trombone at the Saarland University of Music . At the same time he began to conduct himself as a self-taught conductor and has already won several competitions with various orchestras. This was followed by his KA studies at the University of Music in Frankfurt am Main .

During this time he worked with the Saarbrücken State Theater, the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, the Karlsruhe Theater, the Cologne Kantorei and the Saarland Radio Symphony Orchestra .

He attended numerous master classes with Philip Jones , Christian Lindberg , Steven Mead and Pierre Kuijpers before beginning his conducting studies with Alex Schillings in Groningen / NL in 1997, which he successfully completed in 2000.

From 1991 to 1999 Toni Scholl was 1st tenor horn player with the Original Egerländer Musikanten under the direction of Ernst Mosch . Until 2003 he led the new formation Die Egerländer Musikanten “Das Original” in collaboration with Ernst Hutter .

From January 2003 to April 2005 he was deputy director of the Baden-Württemberg State Police Orchestra, and from May 2005 to June 2014 chief conductor. From June 2014 to March 2015 he worked as interim chief conductor of the Federal Police Orchestra in Hanover.

He has worked as a guest conductor with the Leipzig Radio Orchestra, the Burgwacht and Police Orchestra of the Czech Republic, the Hessen Young Symphony Orchestra, the Windharmonie Memmingen Symphonic Wind Orchestra, the Polyphonie-t-wind orchestra, the MH Trossingen, the Sindelfingen Chamber Orchestra, the Filharmonia Sudecka / Poland and the Luxembourg Military Orchestra.

From April 2006 to 2012 he held a lectureship in conducting at the Trossingen University of Music .

Since summer 2010 he has been artistic director of the Swabian youth wind orchestra of the Allgäu-Swabian Music Association . He is the artistic director of the “Big Sounds” festival in Böblingen. As part of this festival, he directs the Wind Philharmonic BW as chief conductor. Since April 2014 he has been heading the newly founded Allgäu Swabian Musicians here, where he is dedicated to maintaining Bohemian music in the style of Ernst Mosch.

Toni Scholl has been an academic assistant at the Mannheim University of Music since April 1, 2015, teaching wind orchestra conducting there.

Toni Scholl gives various gala concerts at home and abroad, such as at the Mid Europe in Schladming / Austria, the Alpine Music Festival in Saas Fee / Switzerland, the Euregio Music Festival in Sonthofen and the World Band Music Festival in Lucerne / Switzerland. In addition to the engagements already mentioned, Toni Scholl leads conducting courses at the Music Academy in Marktoberdorf .
