Tony Hawks graduated from Brighton College . At first he tried to get into show business as a serious songwriter and singer. As head of the Morris Minor and the Majors trio , he reached number 4 in the UK charts in 1988 with the rap parody "Stutter Rap". The group sold 220,000 records and was number one in Australia .

Publications

Hawks has published four books:

  • With the refrigerator by Ireland ( Round Ireland with a fridge )
'first Tony Hawk's book resulted from the (successful) attempt to round with a refrigerator to Ireland to hitchhike to win a Barwette. Over 500,000 copies were sold.
  • Matchball in Moldova ( Playing the Moldovans at Tennis )
His second book was also the result of a bet (with comedian Arthur Smith ) while drunk. The aim was to defeat every player of the Moldovan national football team in tennis .
  • Request concert. One Hit Geht auf die Reise ( One Hit Wonderland )
Hawks' third book describes an attempt to follow up on the success of "Stutter Rap", with which he appeared on Top of the Pops about ten years before the book was set and a chart placement in made the top 20. This is the starting point for a bet to repeat this success within two years.
After unsuccessful attempts in Nashville , Sudan and Amsterdam , the first successes are achieved. At an international singing competition for children in Bucharest , he discovers a singer, but the two of them do not reach the top 20 with a children's song. His duet with a Romanian singer only makes it into the afternoon program for senior citizens on a BBC program .
Together with Tim Rice , Hawks composed the song "Big in Albania" for Norman Wisdom in order to take advantage of his popularity in Albania . The films with Wisdom were the only western films that the Albanian dictator Enver Hoxha allowed for ideological reasons. With this song they reach eighteenth place in the Albanian listener charts and Hawks wins the bet.
  • With the Piano in the Pyrenees ( A Piano in the Pyrenees )
'fourth book Hawks resulted from its acquisition of a house in Bagneres-de-Bigorre ( France ). He had previously decided that meeting his soulmate and buying an “idyllic house” somewhere out of town were the two things he wanted in life.
