Tony Inglis
Anthony "Tony" Inglis (born April 14, 1911 in Dublin , Ireland , † 1997 in Camden , London , England ) was a British art director .
Life
Inglis began his career in the film staff in 1949 as assistant to the art director during the shooting of The Blue Lagoon . From the beginning of the 1950s he worked as an art director himself and had his main creative period between the late 1950s and mid-1960s, mainly on smaller, British film productions. In 1970 he worked on Billy Wilder's crime comedy The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes .
1976 he worked for John Huston's adventure film wanted The man who reign together with Alexandre Trauner and Peter James for the Oscar in the category Design Best nominated, but the award went this year to Stanley Kubrick's film adaptation Barry Lyndon .
As a result, Inglis stopped working in film for several years; After working as an assistant in the Peter Sellers comedy The Malicious Game of Dr. Fu Man Chu in 1980 he retired completely from the film business.
