Sanneh never managed to become a regular with the Berliners. In three seasons he came to 32 missions, only seven of them over a full 90 minutes. However, he was injured very often during this time. In 2001 he moved to 1. FC Nürnberg and was a regular for the team in his first year. However, he was seriously injured and was out for 13 months. He played 10 of the remaining 12 games for the team, but did not renew his contract at the end of the season.

After he did not play the 2008 season and was no longer accepted by any team, he joined Los Angeles Galaxy in February 2009 .
