Tony Spinner

Tony Spinner (born June 9, 1963 in Cape Girardeau , Missouri ) is an American guitarist and singer .

Career

As a child, Spinner was very interested in music. He took guitar and piano lessons for the first time at the age of eight. He began playing guitar in earnest at the age of 14 after seeing Alvin Lee and Jimi Hendrix on television. He had his first appearances in smaller concerts while he was in high school .

Spinner released his first solo album Saturn Blues in 1993. My '64 followed two years later and Crosstown Sessions in 1996 . In 1999 he was offered by the rock band Toto to accompany them on their Mindfields tour. Spinner accepted this offer and was an integral part of the band on tour until their breakup in 2008. He also worked on their albums Through The Looking Glass (2003) and Falling in Between (2006). Spinner even took over the lead vocals on the track "Stop lovin 'you", originally recorded by Joseph Williams on the album The Seventh One.

Since 2001 Spinner has been touring North America and Europe with the Tony Spinner Band . In 2003 he worked on the tribute album Voodoo Crossing - a tribute to Jimi Hendrix . A year later he completed work on his fourth album Chicks and Guitars and released the record.
