Tony Warren

Tony Warren , actually Anthony McVay Simpson (born July 8, 1936 in Eccles , Salford , Greater Manchester , England , † March 1, 2016 ) was a British screenwriter and writer .

Life

After finishing school, Warren trained as an actor in England. Warren is known as the "father" of the British television series Coronation Street , whose first screenwriter he was from 1957 to 1968. Warren, who had his public coming out in England in the 1960s , also wrote four novels in the 1990s.
