Tonya Kinzinger (born June 20, 1968 in Monroe , Michigan ) is an American actress .

life and work

Out of the desire to become a professional dancer one day, Kinzinger took dance lessons in ballet, jazz and tap dance from the age of four. During a summer dance class in New York City she was discovered by fashion photographer Michael Reinhardt in the summer of 1983 and introduced to Eileen Ford, co-founder of the modeling agency Ford Models .

After graduating from high school the following year, Kinzinger moved to Paris , where she worked with well-known photographers as a model for women's and fashion magazines such as Elle and Vogue . During her stay in Paris, Kinzinger was invited to an audition for the female lead in The Ice Cold Wolf (original title: Dancing Machine ) with Alain Delon and Patrick Dupond . A fateful accident while filming ruined her childhood dream of becoming a dancer. At the same time, however, Kinzinger discovered her passion for acting.

In the following years she played in some French television films and in 1995 got a leading role in the TV series Die Draufgänger (original title: Extrême limite ). Between 1996 and 2008 she played the role of Jessica in thirteen seasons of the soap St. Tropez (original title: Sous le soleil ), one of the most internationally successful series in France. With her guest appearances in Highlander and Dark Realm , she played in her mother tongue for the first time. She continued to work in France as well as in the USA.

In 2014 she took part in the fifth season of the French dance show Danse avec les stars .

Kinzinger is the sponsor of Operation-z , a French organization that aims to reduce accidents caused by drunk driving among young people between the ages of 16 and 25. She is married and has a son.
