history

Toporiw was founded in 1605 and was initially in the aristocratic republic of Poland (in the Bełz Voivodeship ). From 1772 to 1918 Toporiw belonged to the Austrian Galicia .

After the end of the First World War , the place came to Poland (in the Voivodeship Tarnopol , Powiat Radziechów , Gmina Toporów ). During the Second World War , the village was first occupied by the Soviet Union in September 1939 and then occupied by Germany from summer 1941 to 1944 and incorporated into the Galicia district. The Jewish population was murdered in the process. The synagogue was converted into a warehouse after the war.

After the end of the war, Toporiw was added to the Soviet Ukrainian SSR and has been part of today's Ukraine since 1991.
