Torin Koos (born July 19, 1980 in Minneapolis ) is an American cross-country skier .

Torin Koos lives in Leavenworth and starts for Leavenworth Winter Sports . Since 1999 he started in lower class races such as the Continental Cup and FIS races. In 2000 he was fifth in the sprint at the Junior World Championships in Štrbské Pleso . He also started on this route for the first time in 2001 at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti . In December he made his debut in the Italian Cogne in the World Cup and finished 70th in the sprint. Highlight of the season was to participate in the local 2002 Olympics of Salt Lake City . He finished 35th in the Soldier Hollow sprint competitions . It took more than three years until he and Andrew Newell were among the top ten of the World Cup for the first time in the Canmore team sprint in December 2005 . At the beginning of 2007 he was able to finish third on the podium for the first time in a sprint in Otepää and achieve his best placement so far. Up to 2007 Koos competed in all Nordic World Ski Championships, the best results were a 14th place in the Oberstdorf team sprint in 2005 and a 15th place in the same discipline two years later in Sapporo . Andrew Newell was his partner both times. At the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin, Koos sprinted again, but only finished 36.

So far (as of November 1, 2007) Koos has won one race in the Continental Cup, three races in the North America Cup and one FIS race. In 2005 he was US sprint champion in Snowfarm and third over 15 kilometers. He reached another third place in 2007 in Houghton in the sprint. So far, Koos has placed in the top ten three times in around 30 World Cup races.
