Torque ( Engl. : Torque ) was an American thrash metal band from Concord , California .

history

After the singer Sean Killian left the band Vio-lence in 1994 and withdrew from the music business, which led to the breakup of the band, the remaining band members, the guitarists Phil Demmel and Ray Vegas, the bassist Dead Dell and the former founded Drummer Mark Hernandez with the band Torque. Phil Demmel took over the post of singer . In the following years, the band released two demos , which eventually brought the band a contract with the record label Mascot Records . In 1996, Torque released their self-titled debut album, produced by Rob Beaton, which was to remain the band's only album. After a third demo, which was released in 1997, Torque broke up again.

Phil Demmel played with Machine Head from 2003 to 2018 , whose singer Robb Flynn also once played with Vio-lence . Mark Hernandez later played for Forbidden and Heathen , while Ray Vegas still plays for Attitude Adjustment . On January 18, 2019, the album Torque was re-released by Mascot Records. As a bonus, this version includes the 1997 demo.
