Torrey is a place in Wayne County in the US state of Utah . It is located on State Route 24 about eight miles from Capitol Reef National Park .

history
Founded in 1880 by Mormon settlers, Torrey is believed to have been named after Jay L. Torrey, a member of the Wyoming Territory Parliament , after a post office was established here.
