Torsten Bathmann (born August 21, 1973 in Berlin-Schmargendorf ) is a German politician ( FDP ). He was elected to the Brandenburg state parliament in the 2009 state elections, but did not accept the election.

Life

Torsten Bathmann grew up in Neuendorf (Lower Franconia) from 1980 to 1996 . There he obtained the middle school entrance qualification in 1990 and the technical college entrance qualification in 1992. He obtained his Abitur in 1995 at the Gymnasium in Würzburg . This was followed by military service, which he served until 1996 with an air force training regiment in Roth .

He then studied history, philosophy and Japanese studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin , at the Sorbonne ( University of Paris IV ) and the University of Tokyo and graduated in 2001 with a Magister Artium. Since 2002 he has been a doctoral candidate and lecturer at the Chair of Social History at the Humboldt University in Berlin and is working on a dissertation on the comparative social history of entrepreneurs in Germany and Japan (1955–1973).

From 2005 to 2009 Bathmann was office manager and research assistant for Heinz Lanfermann, member of the Bundestag FDP . In 2009, he moved to the Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (vfa) as office manager of the general manager. He is chairman of the referee committee of the Brandenburg Judo Association.

Torsten Bathmann has been a member of the FDP since 2002 and has been deputy chairman of the Young Liberals in Brandenburg and a member of the board of the FDP Brandenburg since 2003. From 2007 to 2013 he was chairman of the FDP Havelland. He was replaced by Amid Michel Jabbour in 2013.

In the state elections in 2009 Bathmann was elected to the state parliament. However, he did not accept his mandate. Gregor Beyer moved into the state parliament for him .
