Torsten Bredow

Torsten Bredow (born September 24, 1966 ) is a former German cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

He started cycling with the BSG Kraftverkehr Frankfurt an der Oder association. From 1982 on, Bredow was a member of the ASK Vorwärts Frankfurt an der Oder . In 1986 he was able to win the longest road race in the GDR, Berlin – Cottbus – Berlin . He won the GDR championship in 1988 in the team time trial on the road (with Dan Radtke , Volker Prix and Frank Schönherr ). In the GDR tour he took tenth place in the overall ranking. Even with three participations, this was his best result in this tour. In 1988 he continued to win daily sections in stage races in Syria and Romania . In May 1988 he won the five-stage Oder tour. In 1990 he was able to win a stage in the Tour of Cuba . He also succeeded in doing this at the Lower Saxony Tour in 1992. In 1990 he took third places in races such as Berlin-Leipzig , Rund um die Braunkohle and Berlin-Angermünde-Berlin as well as in the GDR championship in the criterion .
