Stanisław Zieliński

Stanisław Zieliński (born July 26, 1912 in Warsaw ; † September 1939 ) was a Polish cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

His first relevant result was fifth place in the Tour of Poland in 1933. A year later he won the race for the Express daily newspaper , and in 1936 he was Polish road racing champion . In his championship year he took part in the Summer Olympics in Berlin for Poland . He finished the individual race in 16th place. At the end of the 1936 season, he led the annual ranking of the best riders of the Polish Cycling Federation.

After the invasion of the German Wehrmacht in Poland Zieliński fled from Warsaw. He has been missing since then.

Professional

Zieliński completed his training as a toolmaker and worked in a machine factory.
