Lucjan Pietraszewski

Lucjan Pietraszewski (born December 18, 1917 in Łodz ; † July 11, 1995 there ) was a Polish cyclist.

Athletic career

He started his athletic career in the 1930s. During his career he always started for clubs in his hometown, namely for the clubs Resursy Lodz , Tramwaja Łódź , DKS Łódź and Partyzanta Łódź . Pietraszewski was a versatile driver, he competed alongside road races and track races and cyclo-cross . In 1947 he became the first Polish champion in cyclo-cross sports. A year later he won the championship in road racing, in 1947 he was second and in 1946 third in this championship. On the track he was champion in the single pursuit in 1948. He took part in the International Peace Tour three times; 7th place in 1949 was his best result. He achieved two stage wins in the peace ride. In 1948 he finished second in the domestic Tour of Poland , which was also his best result after several starts.

After completing his sports career, he was a functionary in the District Cycling Association in Łódź.
