Janusz Pożak

Janusz Pożak (born June 1, 1955 in Lubartów ) is a former Polish cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

In 1977 he won the Baltic Tour , a stage race in which mainly young drivers from Eastern Europe started. In 1980 Pożak became Polish road racing champion . In 1970 he competed for Poland at the UCI Road World Championships and was 67th in the road race. He took part twice in the International Peace Tour. In 1978 he was 26th, in 1981 he left. In the early 1980s he went to France and raced there as an amateur . In 1986 he returned to Poland and ended his career there.

Professional

In 2018 he became President of the Polish Cycling Federation and resigned from this position in May 2019. He started a cycling business in his hometown. He was also active as a local politician for several years.
