Torsten Marold

Torsten Marold b. as Torsten Ziese (born June 18, 1962 in Bremen ) is a German game designer .

Life

The trained carpenter and father of four children has been a German game designer since the late 1980s and is a member of the game authors' guild (SAZ). According to his own statements, he benefited above all from the collaboration with other authors in the SAZ such as Hajo Bücken . In the mid-eighties he dared to take his first lyrical steps in the creative group Bremen . Since then he has been working on the game and graphic workshop project with the German-Dutch illustrator Jochen Thiemann and the German illustrator Ingrid Hespenheide . In addition to some staple self-published in 1987 the book was published collection of thoughts in the KGB publisher of literature and graphics . In 1996 the book Immanuel was published by the Christian publishing house Culture and Science Publ .

In 1997, Marold's first game of Hussar Golf came out, which was named the 1997 game of skill. In 2004 the solitaire and puzzle game Aruna was released , which Marold developed with his then nine-year-old daughter Runa. In mid-2009, Marold and his friend and colleague Jörn Mentzel showed how a piece of furniture can be built with simple means in the Kabel-Eins program, Abenteuer Leben .

Together with Thiemann alias Bafuß , Marold organized from September to October 2012 under the title poetry album lyric , fortune cookie mentality vs. detailed drawings in the petit musée near Twistringen an exhibition on which drawings and illustrations by Tiemann with poems and texts by Marold could be seen. A report about the museum and the artists was broadcast on Radio Bremen 1 the year before .

At the Essen game fair Spiel 2012 , Marold's game Kipp X was released , which was also released in the USA in 2013 under the name Kilter .

From July 2013 to July 2014, Marold is showing a tree installation of sayings and poetry as part of the Heiligenberger Kunstwege im Wald art project near the Heiligenberg monastery mill . Sayings by the Bremen author have been published on the website Aphorismen.de since the end of 2013. In March 2014, Marold self- published the book The TV . The graphics and illustrations are by Marold's longtime friend Jochen Tiemann aka Bafuß. In the summer of 2015, Marold presented the project “The gifted saying” at an art event in Heiligenloh . More than 300 sayings were given away in badges to initiate conversations and encounters among the guests. Based on an idea by David Hoevelkroeger, the game Skill Heroes - Helden gegen dieschlag based on the film of the same name by Felix Schelhasse from Fuse Film. It was released in October 2015. To mark the 10th birthday of the “SCHAKI” (“Stroke Children”) association, the game was dedicated to the association and the children affected by the stroke.

In September 2017, Marold founded the literature group The Ear Readers together with Detlef Büssel . The participants critically develop the advantages of the audio book and put classical and contemporary literature in the public eye. They invite writers and audiobook voices to some meetings.
