The Totenalb is a 12.9 km long right tributary of the Steinalp in Rhineland-Palatinate , Germany .
geography
The Totenalb rises about 4.3 km northeast of Baumholder at an altitude of 448 m above sea level. NHN . From here, the stream flows primarily to the southeast. After about half of the river's stretch, the river turns to the east. The Totenalb flows north-west of Niederalben at 211 m above sea level. NHN on the right into the Steinalp .
The 12.9 km long Totenalb overcomes a height difference of 282 m on its way, which corresponds to a mean bed gradient of 21.9 ‰. The brook drains its 50.654 km² catchment area via Steinalp, Glan , Nahe and Rhine to the North Sea .
Tributaries
Numerous short streams flow into the Totenalb. The largest tributary is the 7.2 km long Kaueralb with a catchment area of 11.601 km². environment
The Totenalb is one of the coarse material rich, silicate low mountain range brooks. The stream flows through an uninhabited valley with some desolation. The classification of the water structure quality has not yet been published. The water quality is given consistently as low pollution (status 2005).
Infrastructure
The state road 169 accompanies the Totenalb from the confluence of the Guthausbach to the confluence with the Steinalp .
