Travelin Jack is a German hard rock band from Berlin . The band is signed to Steamhammer and has so far released two studio albums.

history

The band was formed in the summer of 2013 when singer Alia Spaceface and guitarist Flo the Fly met. Both work as tattoo artists and quickly discovered that they had the same musical preferences. Together with bassist Steve Burner and drummer Montgomery Shell, the musicians founded the band Travelin Jack. The band name comes from the novel The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub . The band released the 7 "single Madness on August 1, 2014 via the small record label " El Bruto " before the band was signed by This Charming Man Records label. On September 4, 2015, the debut album New World was released on this label In 2015 the band played at the Reeperbahn Festival , Muscle Rock, Desertfest and the “Freak Valley Festival”.

A year later Travelin Jack played a tour through Germany and Scandinavia together with the band The Golden Grass and appeared in the summer at the festival “Stoned from the Underground”. In January 2017 the label Steamhammer signed the band and released the second studio album Commencing Countdown on September 8, 2017 . In the autumn and winter, Travelin Jack played two tours in Germany in support of Wucan and Kadavar . Drummer Montgomery Shell left the band in 2020. He was succeeded by Mighty Miffie. In addition, a keyboardist was added with Al Bang .

style

Travelin Jack's music is usually described as a mix of 1970s hard rock and British glam rock . The trade press compares the band with groups like The Sweet , Thin Lizzy , UFO , early AC / DC , or Slade . The musicians also visually represent the relationship to glam rock, in which the band occasionally appears in make-up.
