Trichloro (tetrachlorophenyl) silane is a mixture of substances from the group of silanes , which consists of carbon , hydrogen , silicon and chlorine . It is insoluble in water and sensitive to hydrolysis , which is mainly caused by the chlorine (more precisely: the Si-Cl bonds). Like other alkyl and arylchlorosilanes, it is suitable for making a specific silicone .

history

Trichloro (tetrachlorophenyl) silane was imported into or manufactured in the USA before 1978 .
