The Trichomonadea ( old Gr. Thrix 'hair', monas 'unit') are a class of Parabasalia.

They are oval protozoa with a nucleus and a flagellum complex (mastigont). Comb-like structures and infra- kinetosomal bodies are absent. Most representatives have a lamellar undulating membrane .
