Canal at Tropy Elbląskie

Tropy Elbląskie (German historically Streckfuß ) is a village in the rural municipality of Elbląg in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . In 2018, 93 people lived here. It is located on the Drausensee and on a river (Thiene), about four kilometers north of Elbląg (Elbing).

history

It is not known since when a fishing village existed on the banks of the river and the Drausensee.

The settlement was temporarily inhabited by Mennonites , whose construction still testifies to residential houses that were built directly on the waterways and mainly accessible by boats. The inhabitants lived mainly from fishing.

In 1636 there were already school regulations. During this time the place belonged to Polish Prussia . After 1772 he was incorporated into the district of Elbing in the province of West Prussia . In 1861 a new school building was built. Around 1925 there were 344 residents in Streckfuß (Tropsy).
