Troy Doris (born April 12, 1989 in Chicago ) is a Guyanese - American triple jumper .

Athletic career

Troy Doris gained his first international experience at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro , where he finished seventh in the final with 19.90 m . In 2017 he took part in the World Championships in London , where he was eliminated from the qualification with 16.43 m . In 2018 he took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast for the first time and won the gold medal there with 16.88 m ahead of the Dominican Yordanys Durañona .

Doris is a graduate of the University of Iowa . He was the standard bearer for Guyana at the closing event of the 2016 Olympic Games.
