Trubia is a Parroquia and a village of the same name in the Autonomous Community of Asturias , which is about twelve kilometers west of Oviedo .

In addition to Trubia, the main town where around two thirds of the population live, there are a number of small settlements a few kilometers away in the surrounding valleys. To the west of the main town there is a nature reserve that is not entirely free from settlement and where people can live under strict conditions. This is a UNESCO experiment to find out whether it is possible for humans and endangered animal species to coexist without their population continuing to decline. Trubia borders a brown bear reserve where most of the last of the Cantabrian brown bears live. The main town is at the end of the Trubia Valley, where the Trubia River of the same name flows into the larger Nalón River.

Trubia is connected to the railway network of the railway company FEVE and lies on the route from Collanzo to San Esteban . A branch line connects Trubia with Oviedo . This is a former line of the state railway RENFE , which served to connect a distant mine. The section between Trubia and Oviedo was taken over by FEVE, converted to narrow gauge and electrified. The remaining section was dismantled and converted into a cycle path . Trubia is connected to the Oviedo city bus network.

Despite the small population, Trubia has a few factories from various industries. The humble agriculture focuses on arable farming .
