Trumbo Point is part of the city of Key West in the northwest corner of Key West Island in the Lower Florida Keys . It is one of several bases of the Key West Naval Air Station . For civilians without access authorization of the US Navy access to Trumbo Point is prohibited.

The military base was originally a seaplane base and was later used as a helicopter base. Today it is mainly used as a residential area for military personnel and is the site of the former “Bachelor Officers Quarters” (BOQ), now known as Navy Gateway Inns & Suites (NGI). NGI, a three-wing skyscraper, is the tallest building on Key West Island . There is also a restaurant, bar & lounge in Trumbo Point, several holiday home villas for active and retired military personnel, a pool and a water park.

The base can be entered from the civil sector through the "Trumbo Gate" at the intersection of Palm Avenue and Peary Court Road.
