The Tschimtarga ( Russian Чимтарга ) is the highest mountain in the Serafshan chain , a mountain range in the extreme southwest of the Tian Shan mountain system in Central Asia .
The mountain has a height of 5489 m . It is located in the western part of the Seraf shank chain in the district of Aini in the province of Sughd - 36 km southwest of the capital Aini . The Tschimtarga lies on the watershed of the two left Serafshan tributaries, Kshtut in the west and Pasrut in the east. To the north of the Tschimtarga are the Kulikalon lakes .
