Tsuneyasu Miyamoto ( Japanese 宮本 恒 靖 Miyamoto Tsuneyasu ; born February 7, 1977 in Osaka ) is a former Japanese football player and current coach.
Career
Club career
Tsuneyasu Miyamoto preferred the role of central defender and that with a relatively small height of 1.76 meters. Miyamoto began his professional career in 1995 with Gamba Osaka in the J-League . He played his first game on June 24, 1995 against Kashiwa Reysol and scored his first goal on October 4, 1997 against JEF United Ichihara .
The defender won the Japanese championship title with Gamba Osaka in 2005 and made it to the Yamazaki Nabisco Cup final . "Tsune" played his last game for Gamba Osaka on January 1, 2007 in a 0: 1 in the final of the Kaiser Cup against Urawa Red Diamonds .
Miyamoto was considered a solid defender who can read a game well and convinces with his aggressiveness and speed.
During the 2006/07 winter break, Miyamoto moved to Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga . Here he wore the shirt number 17. After the spring 2007 was rather unsatisfactory in terms of sport, he was able to establish himself in the league in autumn 2007 with good performances.
In the 2007/08 season, the Japanese was out until the end of 2008 due to a torn tendon and a muscle strain. In January 2009 he moved to Vissel Kobe in his homeland. Here he ended his career in December 2011.
National team
Tsuneyasu Miyamoto came in 1997 with the Japanese U-20 national team at the 1997 Junior World Cup in Malaysia to the quarter-finals, but lost to Ghana 2-1 in extra time.
Miyamoto was the captain of the Japanese national team for almost ten years . For the Olympic team he was in action at the 2000 Summer Olympics when reaching the quarter-finals. At the 2002 World Cup, he was best known for his mask, which he had to wear because of a broken nose ; Because of her, the defense attorney was also called the "mask man". He won the 2004 Asian Cup with Japan . Miyamoto was also in the Japanese squad in the competitions for the Confederations Cup in 2003 and 2005 , as well as at the World Cup in Germany in 2002 and 2006 . Coaching career
After his active playing career, Miyamoto made a coaching education. As the first station in his coaching career, he trained the youth and reserves of Gamba Osaka from 2015 to 2017 .
