The TuS Heven is a sports club based in Witten . The first men's team in the football division played for two years in the fifth-class Oberliga Westfalen . In addition to the football department, the club also offers gymnastics , tennis and skat .

history

In 1909 the predecessor club, the FC-Union Heven 09 was founded. The club colors were black and white. In the time of the First World War is divided Westfalia Heven to the association. This was followed by further mergers with the Jahn gymnastics company and VfB Wannen . In 1933 the association with the Ruhrtaler football club and the renaming to Spielvereinigung Heven followed due to the conformity in sport . In 1945, the district president approved the establishment of a central sports club in Heven. On September 2, 1945 the founding meeting of the gymnastics and sports club Heven took place . The club colors were set to blue and white. On May 12, 1978, the two Heven clubs FC Heven 67 and TuS Heven 09 merged to form TuS Heven 09/67.

Under this name, the Hevener started in the district league, but had to go to the district league A in 1980. In 1985 the promotion succeeded, which was followed four years later by promotion to the regional league . In 1994 the Hevener made it to the association league , where they reached fourth place in 1997. After two relegations in a row, the club returned to the district league in 2000. After the runner-up behind Geiseker SV and TuRa Rüdinghausen , he was promoted back to the regional league in 2003, before going back down to the regional league six years later.

With a 4-0 win against TuS Hattingen , TuS Heven made the immediate return to the national league perfect on April 29, 2010. The following national league season 2010/11 ended the newcomer in second place behind FC Brünninghausen , which entitled to participate in the promotion relegation. After a 4-1 win against Hasper SV , the direct march through to the Westphalia League succeeded . Despite modest financial resources, it was not the end of the game either, the promotion to the re-established, fifth-class Oberliga Westfalen succeeded on the penultimate match day.

In 2014 , after a 3-1 defeat at TSG Sprockhövel on the last matchday, they were relegated to the Westphalia League. It was the first of three relegations in a row that brought Hevener to the district league in 2016.

Stadion

TuS Heven plays in the sports facility on Haldenweg in Heven , which offers space for a few thousand spectators, also thanks to a partially covered grandstand. The game is played on a new artificial turf pitch built in 2009 with floodlights. The inauguration took place on October 20, 2009 with a game against the amateurs of Borussia Dortmund .
