The Tugur ( Russian Тугур ) is a 175 km long river in the Khabarovsk region in the Far East of Russia . The river runs Rajon Tuguro-Tschumikanski . The river was first explored by Alexander Theodor von Middendorff in the mid-19th century.

River course

The Tugur arises at the confluence of the Assyni and Konin , 90 km south-southwest of the Tugur Bay at an altitude of about 140  m . The Burukan residential area ( Russian Бурукан ), possibly abandoned today, is 2.5 km further south. The Tugur initially flows 20 km to the east. He takes in the Ujgi coming from the south . Then the Tugur flows through a wide depression in a north-northeast direction to the sea. He trains numerous meanders and oxbow lakes . The 86 km long tributary Prawaja Ulja runs west of the main river . This joins the Tugur at river kilometer 50. The Tugur finally flows into the southwest head end of the Tugur Bay, 2 km west of the village of Tugur . The river Kutyn flows into the sea immediately east of the Tugur.

Hydrology

The Tugur drains an area of ​​11,900 km². The mean discharge is 180 m³ / s. The river is usually ice-covered between late October and late April. The snowmelt and the associated spring floods usually begin at the end of April.

Fish fauna

In the Tugur u. a. the following fish: the Taimen , the pike , grayling and the genus Brachymystax . In addition, in the summer months the Ketal salmon migrate up the river to their spawning grounds . The peak of the salmon migration usually occurs between August 9th and 25th.
