River course
The Tumanskaya rises in the Koryak Mountains . The headwaters are at an altitude of around 800 m . The Tumanskaya flows 120 km in a predominantly north-northeast direction. It takes in the tributaries Kuiwiweem from the left and the Gytgyweem , the outflow of Lake Mainiz , from the right. The Tumanskaja reached the Anadyrtiefland and turns later, toward the east-northeast. In the lower reaches the rivers Konraryweem and Mainelwegyrgyn flow into the river from the south. This finally reaches an estuary that is separated from the open sea by two long headlands. The estuary is 97 km southeast of the city of Anadyr . The Tumanskaya drains an area of 9270 km².
