Tuna Isler

Tuna Isler (born September 4, 1989 in Darmstadt ) is a German basketball coach .

Life

Isler was born in Darmstadt and spent his childhood in Weiterstadt . At SG Weiterstadt he began his career as a basketball coach. In 2013 he went to his parents' homeland, Turkey , for a year and was part of the coaching staff of Galatasaray Istanbul . This time had a major influence on his basketball knowledge, Isler said later. In the 2014/15 season he was assistant coach of the university giants Leipzig in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB , in the 2015 summer break he was promoted to Leipzig head coach. In addition to his work as a trainer, he studied sports science at the University of Leipzig with a focus on diagnostics and intervention in competitive sports. Isler left the university giants after the end of the 2015/16 game year.

In the 2017/18 season Isler worked as Simon Cote's assistant coach at White Wings Hanau in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA , in summer 2018 he moved to the Artland Dragons in Quakenbrück and also took over the position of assistant coach at the second division promoted team. When the Artländer separated from head coach Florian Hartenstein at the end of November 2019 , Isler became his successor.
