Tunap ( spelling : TUNAP ) is an internationally operating group of companies with headquarters in Wolfratshausen, Bavaria . In 18 companies with four plants in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, it develops, produces and sells aerosols and active ingredients for industrial, technical and cosmetic applications. The group is a subsidiary of the Würth Group .

history

Tunap was founded in 1971 by Markus Buchner in Munich.

The company headquarters is now in Wolfratshausen and includes administration, sales, research and development facilities and one of four production facilities. In production, the company employs a total of 160 people there, with a focus on chemical agents and liquids.

In 1997 Tunap took over a production facility in Lichtenau (Saxony) with an area of ​​74,000 m². In particular, aerosol production was expanded. 85 employees work there. A third production company with 11,000 m² with 30 employees was opened in 2000 in Märstetten , Switzerland. Around 30 million cans of aerosols are produced there every year.

In 2013 Tunap acquired the companies Your Own Brand GmbH ( Neutraubling ) and Kemacos Full-Filling Service GmbH ( Kematen in Tirol ). As a result, sales and production capacities for cosmetic products could be further expanded. The company has 75 employees there and manufactures a. a. Hair care , skin care and personal care products.

Trivia

Max Buchner, grandfather of Tunap founder Mark Buchner, founded in 1928 in Munich, the first BMW - Authorized Service Center at all. To this day, the company with the name automag is the oldest BMW authorized workshop worldwide. In 1929, Max Buchner won the international alpine rally with a BWM-Dixi .

With the Tunap Sports division, the company sponsors the Bora-hansgrohe and Bahrain-Merida bicycle teams .
