The Tunga ( Norwegian for tongue ) is a prominent rock spur in Queen Maud's Antarctic land . It rises up immediately southwest of the Gommen valley in the Kirwanveggen of Maudheimvidda .
Norwegian cartographers named it and mapped it on the basis of surveys and aerial photographs of the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1949–1952) and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
