The old name for Tungendorf was "Tuentrop" and at that time it was a small village near Neumünster. After the formation of the districts in Schleswig-Holstein, the municipality of Tungendorf belonged to the district of Kiel (later renamed the district of Bordesholm). Around 1900 the settlement of Tungendorf was built , in which mainly railway families lived who worked in the Reichsbahn repair shop .

In 1923 the original village received a power connection, at the same time the first homes were built in the streets Am Kamp , Wookerkamp and Preetzer Landstraße . In 1932 the Bordesholm district was dissolved and the community became part of Plön district . In the Reichstag election in March 1933 , 35.3% voted for the NSDAP , 3.1% for the DNVP , 41.8% for the SPD and 14.6% for the KPD, with a turnout of 92.1%. Thus Tungendorf was one of the few remaining SPD strongholds in the state of Schleswig-Holstein in this election. In 1938 the Tungendorf settlement with around 4,000 residents was incorporated into Neumünster. In return, Tasdorf was incorporated in 1939. From 1945 further areas were developed for residential construction.

In 1970 Tungendorf-Dorf , roughly the rest of the original community of Tungendorf without the incorporated Tasdorf, was incorporated into Neumünster. The community of Tungendorf was renamed Tasdorf that same year .
