Tomslake is a community-free settlement in the western part of the Canadian province of British Columbia .
It is located in the Peace River Country , right on the western border of Alberta along British Columbia Highway 2 , south of Pouce Coupé , on the northern side of Tate Creek and to the northwest of Swan Lake.
The community was founded in 1939 by a group of refugees from the Sudetenland , Czechoslovakia ; the place with a railway station was previously called Tupper, located on the Tupper Creek. Most of the inhabitants come from the Sudetenland. According to sources, 518 Sudetes came during the Second World War , organized into 152 families.
The Sudeten Provincial Park and the Swan Lake Provincial Park are located south of the community. The lake of the same name "Toms Lake" is located a little north of the settlement.
