The Tuzla Çayı is a left tributary of the Karasu ( Western Euphrates ) in Eastern Anatolia .

The Tuzla Çayı is dammed by the Palandöken Dam at the confluence of its two source rivers Lezgi Deresi and Pisyan Deresi . The Tuzla Çayı flows west past Çat . It flows another 60 km in a westerly direction and crosses the provincial border from Erzurum to Erzincan . Eventually it reaches the southeast end of the Tercan Reservoir . Below the Tercan Dam, the river passes the small town of Tercan . The D100 trunk road follows the lower reaches of the Tuzla Çayı from Tercan. This finally flows 30 km west of Tercan at the settlement Akyurt in the Karasu flowing south. The Tuzla Çayı has a length of approx. 100 km.
