Twin Hills is a census-designated place of the Yup'ik (a subgroup of the Eskimos ) in the Dillingham Census Area of Alaska . The place is located on Togiak Bay in the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge . According to the 2000 census , 69 people lived there.

Twin Hills is located at the mouth of the Twin Hills River , a tributary of the Togiak River .
history
Twin Hills was founded in 1965 by families who moved away from Togiak because of the recurrent flooding . The residents have strong cultural ties to the Yukon-Kuskokwim region. Her ancestors moved from there to Togiak from 1918 to 1919 because of the flu epidemic. The school building, built in 1972, burned down in 1976, and a new school was built in 1978. In 1977 a post office was opened.

Twin Hills is accessible from the air and across the water. In 1974 Twin Hills Airport started operations. Cars, quads, and snowmobiles are the most common local modes of transportation.
