Twin Star Exorcists: Onmyoji ( Japanese 双星 の 陰陽師 , Sōsei no Onmyōji ) is a manga series by Yoshiaki Sukeno that has been released in Japan since 2013. It was translated into several languages, including German, and adapted as an anime television series in 2016 .

The student Rokuro Enmadō has supernatural abilities and a talisman that make him an onmyoji who is supposed to fight the unclean. But after they attacked the Hiinatsuji residence and Rokuro was the only survivor, he refuses to continue on the path of an Onmyoji and prefers to become something else. But Rokuro fails in everything he tries, and he has no success with the girls either. One day, however, Benio Adashino, who is also Onmyoji, enters his life. She is supposed to train with him and one day marry him. Because both are the strongest fighters of their clan and should produce an even stronger Onmyoji. First, however, both must concentrate on fighting the unclean. Circumstances convinced Rokuro that he should use his natural talent and yet become an Onmyoji.

The manga has been published in Jump Square magazine by Shueisha since October 2013 . This brought out the chapters in 19 anthologies so far. These sold over 75,000 times each in Japan.

A German translation of the series has been published by Planet Manga since March 2016 . Viz Media publishes an English version, Kazé a French, Norma Editorial and Tong Li Publishing a Chinese.

Anime series

Studio Pierrot made an adaptation of the manga as an anime for Japanese television in 2016 . Directed by Tomohisa Taguchi and lead author was Naruhisa Arakawa . The character design was created by Kikuko Sadakata and the artistic directors were Junichi Higashi and Yuki Maeda .

The 50 episodes, each 25 minutes long, were shown for the first time from April 6, 2016 to March 29, 2017 by AT-X , Aichi TV , TV Hokkaido , TV Osaka , TV Setouchi , TV Tokyo and TVQ Kyushu . A version with English subtitles was broadcast by Animax Asia and published online by the Crunchyroll platform . Crunchyroll brought out the episodes in other languages, including German.
