Jump Square
Jump Square ( Japanese ジ ャ ン プ ス ク エ ア , Jampu Sukuea ), also Jump SQ. ( ジ ャ ン プ SQ. ), Is a Japanese Shōnen - Manga magazine published by Shūeisha . It appears monthly. Each issue is about 800 pages and costs 500 yen .
Details
Jump Square appears since November 2, 2007. It is the successor to the magazine Gekkan Shōnen Jump (Monthly Shōnen Jump), which was discontinued in June 2007 due to poor sales. Four series from the old magazine are continued in Jump Square , including the successful Claymore , which was published in Germany in summer 2008. For the most part, however, the magazine contains new series and short stories, most of which are penned by well-known illustrators, such as Yasuhiro Nightow or Akira Toriyama .
Jump SQ.II and Jump SQ.19
On April 18, 2008, the offshoot Jump Square Second ( ジ ャ ン プ ス ク エ ア セ カ ン ド , Jampu Sukuea Sekando ) or Jump SQ.II appeared as an opportunity for new authors to publish their works and to familiarize themselves with series publishing. The magazine received special attention through the published short story Karakuridōji Ultimo , a collaboration between Hiroyuki Takei and Stan Lee . The magazine appeared at irregular intervals in four issues: Issue 6/2008 (April 18, 2008), 1/2009 (November 21, 2008), 8/2009 (June 18, 2009) and 1/2010 (December 18, 2009) .
