The Twisp River is a right tributary of the Methow River in Okanogan County , Washington State . It is about 42 km long. The name of the river comes from the place name [tx w ə́c'p] from the Okanagan , which possibly means " wasp ".

The Twisp River has its source in the Northern Cascade Range . Generally flowing eastward, the Twisp River drains the mountains south of Washington Pass as well as the eastern slopes of Sawtooth Ridge, a main chain with some of the highest peaks in Washington (such as Star Peak and Mt. Bigelow).
The Twisp River flows into the Methow River in the town of Twisp .
Trivia
In 1945 a Japanese balloon bomb was sighted on the Twisp River.
