Tyler Nicholson (born August 3, 1995 ) is a Canadian snowboarder . He starts in the freestyle disciplines.

Career

Nicholson has been participating in competitions on the TTR World Snowboard Tour since 2011 . In March 2011, he won his first national Slopestyle win at the Ontario Provincial Championship in Mount St Louis . At the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck , he achieved sixth place in slopestyle. He drove his first FIS World Cup race in January 2013 in Copper Mountain , which he finished in 29th place in slopestyle. In March 2013 he won gold in slopestyle at the Snowboard Junior World Championships 2013 in Erzurum . In the same month he came in the Canadian Championships in Calgary on the second place in the Slopestyle. At The Shred Show 2013 in Whistler , he finished 14th in Big Air and third in Slopestyle. In March 2014, he took third place in slopestyle at the Poney Session in St Lary , second place at the Grandvalira Total Fight in Grandvalira and first place at the Snowcrown Ski and Snowboard Festival in Blue Mountain . He finished the season in fifth place in the Tour Slopestyle ranking and second in the Tour overall ranking. At the beginning of the 2014/15 season he reached third place in slopestyle at the Dew Tour Mountain Championships in Breckenridge . In February 2015, he took second place in Stoneham in slopestyle, his first podium in the FIS World Cup. Two weeks later he finished third at the 2015 Burton US Open in Vail and finished third in the Big Air World Cup at the end of the season. At the beginning of the 2015/16 season, he came second in the slopestyle at The Mile High in Perisher Blue . In the further course of the season he achieved second place in slopestyle at the Laax Open in Laax and second place in big air at the Jamboree and World Cup in Québec . At the X-Games Oslo 2016 in Oslo he finished 11th in Big Air. In March 2016 he finished ninth in slopestyle at the Burton US Open and came 13th in Big Air at the 2016 Snowboard World Championships in Yabuli and to ninth place in slopestyle. At the end of the season, he finished ninth in the Freestyle World Cup and second in the Big Air World Cup. In the 2016/17 season he took third place in slopestyle at the Laax Open 2017 and also World Cup, and 12th place in slopestyle and ninth place in big air at the X-Games Norway 2017 in Hafjell . In the Winter X. -Games 2017 in Aspen , he won the silver medal in slopestyle.
