The remains of the listed Schellerlhof castle ruins are located in the Upper Palatinate town of Roding near the village of Raubersried in the district of Cham ( Bavaria ), which belongs to the neighboring Markt Stamsried . The facility is located on the north-northeast slope of the Schwärzenberg above the source area of the Schellerbach in the Strahlfelder forest.

history

The name of the facility is derived from the Schellerbach. There is no written record of this system. Possibly it is a forework of the castle Schwärzenberg from the 14th century. Due to the lack of a trench, the system can only be assigned a limited defense character.

Building description

The complex rises on a terraced hill of 30 × 15 m. There are wall sections of a rectangular building measuring 25 × 11 m. These are 1.2 m thick and made of rose quartz quarry stones. The building is divided by three transverse walls, and there is another separate square room on the eastern corner. Here was a farm that burned down in 1792.
