History and layout

The former name of the very exposed and secluded castle with a wide view of the Regental is not known. Presumably, the construction of the castle goes back to the Donnersteiner zu Darstein from the 13th to 14th centuries and was given up again early on. Around 1930 the remaining wall remains were removed by a quarry.

The former rectangular 50 by 20 meter castle complex does not reveal any moat . In the northwest corner there are still remnants of the curtain wall . In the eastern part, hills still indicate former buildings. The Burgstall is now a ground monument .
