qualification
As the reigning Asian champions, North Korea was automatically qualified for the 2009 Women's U-19 Asian Football Championship . At the finals in Wuhan , China , they were first group winners ahead of South Korea, but in the semifinals the North Koreans lost 1-0 to Japan. In the decisive game for third place and entry into the World Cup finals, North Korea won 1-0 against hosts China.
