Lister place
The Lister Square in Hannover is a space-like crossroads in the south of the district list .
history
The intersection was already there in 1850. This is where the old country road ran from Hanover to Celle ( Alte Celler Heerstraße ). In 1907 the square was named Lister Platz as a center of the district. From 1933 to 1945 it was called Hugenbergplatz , named after Alfred Hugenberg .
description
The Lister Meile , which begins at the main station and is a pedestrian zone in its northern section, ends at Lister Platz . Its axis is continued by the Podbielskistraße , which begins here and crosses the List district in a north-easterly direction and leads to Groß-Buchholz and Lahe . Ferdinand-Wallbrecht-Strasse begins in a north-westerly direction at Lister Platz, the axis of which is taken up by Bödekerstrasse in a south-easterly direction . Other streets that lead into the square are Lister Strasse , which leads past the historic location of the Bahlsen biscuit factory, and Oskar-Winter-Strasse , which, starting as a pedestrian zone, leads past the Markuskirche to Eilenriede .
At the corner of Bödekerstraße / Podbielskistraße is one of ten surviving listed grandfather clocks by Adolf Falke (so-called Falke clock ).
Metro station
The Lister Platz underground station was built in 1976 as part of the construction of the Hanover city railway . Because of the limited space in this area, the tracks had to be built on top of each other instead of next to each other as usual. The trams 3, 7 and 9 run here.
