Altwarmbüchen is a district of the municipality of Isernhagen in the Hanover region in Lower Saxony . In relation to the number of inhabitants, it is the largest district in Isernhagen. The district borders the city of Hanover to the northeast . The seat of the municipality Isernhagen is with the town hall in Altwarmbüchen.

geography

Altwarmbüchen is on the north-eastern outskirts of Hanover. In the south the local area borders on the former Altwarmbüchener Moor . In the north, on both sides of the Wietze, there are large agricultural areas that rise gently towards Isernhagen.

The location with its natural and geographical conditions offered Altwarmbüchen ideal opportunities to develop from a former rural village to an attractive small town in the closest catchment area of the state capital Hanover. Today Altwarmbüchen has outgrown the village existence and is embedded in spacious natural areas. In particular, the Feldmark to the north and west offer walking paths. In the south lies the Altwarmbüchener See , which is visited year-round by cyclists, joggers and bathers. Near the center of the village there is a small wooded area (Jacobi grove) that has had an exercise course since the late 1970s. After the exercise wave has subsided, it is used by the local residents as a smaller local recreation area.

history

The center of Altwarmbüchen is predominantly characterized by the residential parks I and II built in the late 1960s and early 1970s. With the residential park II from the early 1970s, with its yellow clinker facade, a trend towards more effective and therefore rather narrow development can already be seen. In contrast, the residential park I ("Engelhardt houses") is characterized by its loose construction. Apartment groups arranged in an L shape dampen traffic noise and create large green spaces that take on the character of inner courtyards. The staggered arrangement provides a good view even on the middle floors.

At the moment, a new quarter is being built at the end of the tram, which is called “Wietzeaue”. A district is being built in which there are different types of living: in addition to semi-detached and terraced houses, there are also commercial buildings and condominiums. The area is about 20 hectares.

Inclusions

On March 1, 1974, Altwarmbüchen was incorporated into the new community of Warmbüchen. This was officially renamed Isernhagen on June 1, 1975 .

coat of arms

The design of the coat of arms of Altwarmbüchen comes from the heraldist and coat of arms painter Gustav Völker , who was born in Isernhagen and later lived in Hanover , and who also designed the coats of arms of Großburgwedel , Mellendorf , Wunstorf and many other localities. The approval of the coat of arms was granted by the district president in Lüneburg on March 28, 1962.

Altwarmbüchen coat of arms
Blazon : " Divided plate , top in green , a silver Moor godfather over silver bog hoe (Twicke), both with golden stem, bottom of silver and black diagonally split up a very skilful , red - gezungter , black wolf's head , below a silver wolf Angel ."
Foundation of the coat of arms: The municipality of Altwarmbüchen is surrounded by extensive moorland areas that have influenced the development of the municipality and the life of its inhabitants for centuries. In the upper part of the coat of arms there are therefore two typical devices as they were used earlier for the economic use of the moor, namely a moor hoe and a moor spade. The lower part shows the coat of arms of the Burgdorf district in order to symbolize the affiliation of the municipality to this district.
