The underground station Niederhofstraße on the U6 underground line is in the 12th district of Meidling . It is named after Niederhofstrasse, which was named in 1894 and was previously called Matzleinsdorfer Strasse. The station, which went into operation on October 7, 1989, is located along Vivenotgasse between Niederhofstrasse and Reschgasse. Exits lead on the one hand to Reschgasse (where there is barrier-free access) and on the other to Niederhofstrasse. The station is kept in the ocher brown key color of the U6 and was designed by Kurt Schlauß .

The central platform is twice as deep. The lifts and stairs lead to a further level, from which the platforms can be viewed through a gallery. Round benches were built around supporting pillars, a unique feature in Vienna's underground stations. The floor tiles are an allusion to the " Otto Wagner design " of the core route of most of the stations on the U6 between Nussdorfer Straße and Längenfeldgasse.

The pedestrian zone Meidlinger Hauptstrasse is nearby . It is possible to change to bus lines 10A to Heiligenstadt and 63A in the direction of Südwestfriedhof or the South Health Center.
